FAQ
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in my driveway?
In the cities we have checked (Chicago, Houston, Columbus, Philadelphia, Denver, Kansas City), the city right-of-way permit applies to the street, sidewalk or alley, not private property. HOAs and other permits may still apply.
Who gets the dumpster permit?
It depends on the city. In Denver only the dumpster company can pull it; in Columbus either the vendor or the customer can. Ask your rental company first.
